Welcome to the sunny Cayman Islands.
Cayman Airways is the national carrier, and Virtual Airlines filling their operation can be found under the links section of this site
. Major airlines such as American also serve the country. As the
name implies the country is made up of several islands with Georgetown, Grand Cayman being the capital. At present we will only be providing ATC
coverage for the main international airport, Owen Roberts (MWCR) located in Georgetown. There are several other local airports and strips through
out the Islands and pilots are welcome to fly them. ATC assistance will be provided on a case by case basis , traffic load permitting and service
limited to providing separation. All such flights are VFR as such airports do not have published charts. Pilots will be required to have knowledge
of the airports and to use their own navigation for approaches etc.
The International airport is very straight forward and does not require any special navigation or approaches. The terrain is flat and runway 08 is used most frequently. Of course the Islands are in the hurricane belt so summer months can be fun.
